“Sir,” said Devan, fumbling (হাতড়ানো) in his pocket for Murad’s letter, “I have a letter here.” “Couldn’t it wait?” sighed the old man in a fading (মলিন) voice. “Sir, I have come to Delhi only for one day. I must return to my college in Mirpur,” Devan stammered (তোতলানো). “I have a letter here from Murad Beg – Editor of Awaz.” “Can’t you see it is too dark for me to read? I’m resting. I don’t know where my spectacles (চশমা) are. Read it to me. Now that you have ruined my sleep you might as well read it to me.”
Fumbling in his pocket for Murad’s letter, Devan respectfully told the old man that he had a letter there. The old man sighed in a fading voice and asked if it couldn’t wait. He also said that he was resting and didn’t know where his spectacles were. Then he told Murad to read the letter to him and justified that as he had ruined his sleep so he might as well read that to him.

Don Quixote asked Sancho to see those thirty huge giants towering over the plain. He commented that he would do the world a great service if he rid it of such cruel and greedy monsters as those giants always were. Wondering Sancho asked what giants he (Don Quixote) was talking about. Don, his master replied that those were straight before him with long outstretched arms. With great respect Sancho replied that the standing elements ahead were not giants, those were windmills. And the arms were nothing but the sails which could turn when the windmills blew to make the mills go.
