Fumbling in his pocket for Murad’s letter, Devan respectfully told the old man that he had a letter there. The old man sighed in a fading voice and asked if it couldn’t wait. But Devan respectfully explained in a stammering voice that he had come to Delhi only for one day and he had to return to his college in Mirpur. He also said that he had a letter there from Murad Beg- Editor of Awaz. At this, the old man became irritated and asked him if he couldn’t see that it was too dark for him to read. He also said that he was resting and didn’t know where his spectacles were. Then he told Murad to read the letter to him and justified that as he had ruined his sleep so he might as well read that to him.

Mrs. Delacroix called Tessie and advised her to be a good sport. At this, Tessie said that all of them took the same chance. Hearing this, Bill Hutchinson angrily told Tessie to shut up. Mr. Summer, however, addressed everyone and said that that had been done pretty fast. He added that they had got to be hurrying a little more to get done in time.

Mr. Tareq (Rebecca’s father) told Rebecca that he would be late that day as there was a lot of traffic then. Rebecca requested her father to try to come early because she wanted to go outside with him. At this, Mr. Tareq asked her where she wanted to go. Rebecca replied that she wanted to go to the Fantasy Kingdom. She also asked him if he would take her there. Hearing this Mr. Tareq assured her affectionately and said that he would take her there.

“Oh, my Lord, please do not kill the child.” “Let her have him.” The king said, “Now everything is clear to me.” Pointing to the women, he said to the servant, “Give her the child, she is the mother of the baby.”
Addressing the king as her Lord, the woman earnestly requested the king not to kill the child. The woman also requested the king to let her (other women) have him. Then the king said that everything was clear to him. Pointing to the women, the king ordered the servant to give her (W) the child and added that she (W) was the mother of the baby.
